Berryz Koubou’s 24th single titled Shining Power has been announced.
According to the Shinseido site there will be 5 versions of the single:
- Regular Edition
- Limited Edition A (with a DVD featuring a Close-up version of the PV)
- Limited Edition B (with a DVD featuring a Dance Shot ver of the PV)
- Limited Edition C
- Inazuma CD
I am very surprised to see that they will have 5 versions of the single since this is the first time (that I know of) that an H!P group releases more than 4 editions of a single at the same time, and even though we don’t have much information right now about the single, I am very excited (to say the least) about it.
I am also glad to see that they are continuing their promotional tie with Inazuma Eleven since it gives them more promotion among viewers of the anime, and since it will most likely be the next ED of the anime we can expect to hear the preview sometime soon.
Most likely they decided to release a separate Inazuma Eleven edition so that it is easy to distinguish from their regular singles (their past single had Inazuma Eleven as the regular cover which might have caused some confusion at first glance), but hopefully we soon see the covers so that we can find out just how different the covers will be and whether or not the content will be different.
As for the title, it seems that we can expect to see another fast paced song since it seems to fit that kind of song type better, but since we don’t know anything apart from the title we will have to wait and see for a preview.
Hopefully UFA decides to actually promote this release well and not rely on anime ED’s and video game releases as promotion since a 5 edition release of a single is certainly a great opportunity to get great sales (it seems that Berryz and C-ute’s recent releases have little to no promotion lately).
I am somewhat optimistic that this single will be among the highest on the Oricon chart the week of its release if it gets some great promotion such as TV performances, radio promotion, magazine appearances and a unique promotion campaign, but only time will tell if we will get a chance to see that.
Since the song will most likely be used as the anime’s ED we can expect to hear a preview sometime in late September or October, but hopefully more details, such as covers and a tracklist, are released soon since this will definitely be a very unique single release.
The release date is set for 11/10.
