The full PV for Berryz Koubou’s 24th single titled Shining Power has been released.
For the most part I did like the PV a lot more when I saw the HQ version since I got to see everyone in perfect quality, and even though the PV wasn’t one of their most impressive ones I did love how it looked overall.
The PV takes part mostly in a white room with “cubes” (or randomly shaped objects) that are splashed with the colors of each one of the members, although there are many other different shots such as the close-up shots where each girl stands in front of their member color, the ping pong shot, or the shot of them playing hide and seek.
I was surprised to see that they added a ping pong match and a shot of Berryz playing hide and seek since it didn’t fit the PV theme at all (it was most likely added to fill the PV), but I have to admit that it added a unique and fun touch to the PV since everyone in the group seemed to have fun.
The close-ups were the shots that stood out the most for me since every member had a different colored background, and even though Kumai had most of the close-ups (since she does sing most of the song) I was glad to see that each member got quite a bit of time to shine in the PV.
Overall the PV was slightly disappointing since the bright colorful look of the setting (plus the slow ping pong match and the hide and seek) didn’t quite match well with the dark outfits that each member had on, but I have to admit that it was a uniquely themed PV with an interesting look since each member shined throughout it.
Hopefully UFA decides to promote this release well since this single does have some very tough competition (Arashi, Kara, etc), and even though they will most likely not I encourage Berryz Koubou fans to buy a copy of the single to support them.
The release date is set for 11/10.
