Big release day today with many releases, like Momusu’s 47th single as well as many more for fans of C-ute and Dream Morning Musume.

Morning Musume’s 47th single which debuted on the Oricon at #2 with 26,411 sales, making it the highest 1st day selling single since 2007.

Morning Musume for me, and most likely to many who are reading this, has always featured Ai-chan in the front and while it has been that way for ten years Momusu was made upon the concept of having members graduate after a certain amount of time, and knowing that it’s no surprise to see that Ai-chan has finally decided to move on with her career.

She has been and will always be one of the most talented singers that H!P has had so my expectations for this single were high, and I’m glad to see that they didn’t disappoint at all since it is a completely perfect release for everyone to enjoy, since it has a bit of everything (as reflected by the covers): a funky beat with calm but powerful vocals, as well as a playful song that shows off the playful side of the group.

Since this is the first double a-side release for Momusu they decided to release the two PVs for this single as one with a small connection and scenes shared by both, such as the shots of the members sleeping, and while they might contrast a bit too much at times due to the very different themes they use they managed to blend them perfectly.

The PV for Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa o Honki de Negatterun da yo! can be best summarized with the words “rainbow road” since most of the PV takes place in a bright and lightfilled lane where the members (except for Aika) dance a simple but fitting dance for this release, and along with additional scenes such as shiny group and close-up shots, shots of the members in space after falling asleep, among many others make this PV a brilliant release (literally) since it combines eye catching visuals along with cute and gold colored outfits.

Mizuki really stood out since she looks absolutely gorgeous in the outfit (as many have mentioned like an Egyptian queen), but everyone looks amazing as well since each outfit gives each member a chance to shine due to the unique style they each have, from Gaki, Ai, and Sayu to Kanon, Eripon and Riho everyone looks impressive.

The song is somewhat calm with a funky instrumental, and while it might not be as catchy at first and seems to repeat itself a bit I have to admit that I loved it since it really shows off everyone’s vocals well, including the somewhat odd pairing of Sayu and Ai singing a line.

The second a-side, Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai, is the complete opposite of the first song since it is even more eye catching due to the fun and colorful theme they used which can best be summarized by the word “Japan”, and I say that mostly because the PV is just too unique and fun to have been produced anywhere else.

It’s hard to summarize the shots since there are way too many, but simply put everyone gets to stand out in some way, but as a Sayu fan I have to point out that there is quite a lot of her, which makes me very happy since she has improved quite a lot, although the Sayu heads floating in space and over Reina’s head are a bit scary at times.

This would technically be the b-side, so not surprisingly everyone gets to sing at least once, and it’s a relief since the PV and song are a perfect combination, mainly due to the fun beat and the happy colorful visuals we see during every second of this PV.

From Gaki fighting Godzilla, to Kanon sprouting wings after eating an apple and floating to a giant heart in the sky, the rewind effect as the chorus repeats, and the funny faces from everyone during the bridge make this PV simply among the best I have seen from the group since it’s filled with fun images and happy scenes.

Those two songs make up the Regular, Limited A, Limited B, and Limited C editions of this release, but apart from that there is also a special Ai-chan release with a solo song for her, and I can’t think of a better release for her since it gives her a special way of saying goodbye to her fans as she moves on to a new stage of her life, and the song reflects that theme perfectly:

The song is an upbeat ballad full of guitar and many cool effects that make this song a solid release, but with a slightly calm style that could have improved for this song, although Ai-chan’s voice shines more in slower songs so I love it since it is a perfect song for her last single due to the mature but catchy style it has.

We haven’t seen a PV for this release but we should see it in a few weeks with the release of the 12th album, so hopefully it reflects the song well, but seeing how good the two other a-sides turned out I am confident that we will see an incredible release for Ai-chan’s PV.

Overall this single is simply a masterpiece since it has a calm but funky song with a brilliant golden theme that shows off everyone’s voices, with a fun and catchy song with an equally colorful PV full of different scenes and shots that will most likely brighten everyone’s day, and wrapping up with Ai-chan’s mature and cool song showing off her incredible voice.

I mention on almost every post that I hope everyone reserved their copy but this time I really hope everyone did buy their version of this single since it is simply a must have. If you can’t buy a single from CDJapan, HMV or YesAsia then please at least buy the tracks from iTunes since this is a rare chance to show Ai-chan that she will be missed and will forever be one of the best Momusu members there has been.

I have already bought two copies of the single so I look forward to checking out this release firsthand, but to wrap up the review: thank you Ai-chan for 10 years of amazing performances!

When I heard that this was going to be a double A-sided single I was really excited for it. For Ai-chan’s last single with Morning Musume I think a 3 song single was really nice since it’s a great way to send Ai off.

First I wanted to comment on Kono chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Nagatterun da yo! Out of the 3 songs this is my least favorite. I don’t like the disco feel of most of the songs. The only part that I probably like is the chorus, it has the least feel of a disco and feels more like a pop song. I do like the gold outfits they use for this song and like I said before it’s really goddess inspired which is perfect for Ai’s last single. The PV is real fun to watch though, it’s real bright and everything sparkles.

Second is Kare to Issho ni Omise ga shitai. This is my favorite of the 3 songs. I know Sayumi isn’t the best singer out of everyone but she really fits as the lead for this song since it has a cute feel to it. I also like it since the regular lead singers didn’t take a lead so it’s nice to hear something different. The outfits for this single is just as nice as the gold outfits, everything is really colorful and makes everyone look energetic and youthful. I also like that they’re sort of cosplaying for example Ai-chan as a flight attendant. The outfits are also a nice complement to the PV, mostly everything on this PV was done from a green screen and I have to say that it’s done pretty well. I really like the manga feel of the entire PV and even though this song didn’t have a dance shot I think it’s still great.

Next is Ai’s solo song which is include on the single. I was expecting a ballad for this song but it’s more upbeat than I thought and I’m not too big on ballads so I was really happy when I heard the song. The rock instrumentals also surprised me since I was expecting something more like Ano hi no Modoritai but it’s nothing like that. I really feel like this is the best song for Ai-chan’s graduation and everything from the cover to her outfit is perfect.

I commented on the single’s cover so I won’t go over that. Overall everything this single was perfect the covers, outfits and even though I wasn’t a big fan for one of the songs I think it’s still perfect. This single is a 5 and deserves the #1 spot on the charts so please continue to support Ai-chan and reserve a copy!

I was somewhat glad that the OG Musume members came together and created a group. Many of them weren’t active as soloists and if they hadn’t formed Dream Morning Musume I think they would’ve just stayed inactive and for that I looked forward to this concert.

A lot of this concert featured songs from the older generations and I only became a fan when Ai-chan was leader so I was unfamiliar with a lot of the songs. For the songs I was familiar with I thought it was real interesting to hear different voices sing it, for example Mikan. Koharu was the only member who participated in that song’s release and to hear different voices sing I find it real interesting.

The cover doesn’t really stand out too much for me. I think it looks a bit crowded since they pasted everyone onto the cover. I think if they had chosen the same pictures but put each member into their own “box” with a frame around, it might’ve looked better.

The only thing I would’ve liked changed was to add a bit more Ai-chan era songs or covers of other songs. A lot of the songs they performed are Morning Musume classics, they’re used a lot at concerts and a lot of fans are familiar with those songs. I think it would’ve been cool to see a cover of Genki Pika Pika or Onna ga medatte naze ikenai.

Something different like that would’ve been nice but regardless of that this release is still good and for me it rates as a 4.

Most times there’s not much differences in Single V editions of a single except the tracklist, I didn’t review C-ute’s latest single last week so I wanted to reiterate what an awesome single it is with the Single V edition.

The song is amazing, I really like the happy, upbeat songs especially from C-ute since it fits their image better than a mature song. The song is really catchy and gets stuck in your head easily, especially the “Wow wow yeah yeah” parts which I imagine there will be a lot of fan chanting at concerts and lives.

The PV is equally as awesome as this song itself and even if it is low budget. I love how everything matches to their member colors and the my favorite part of the PV would be the when they punch down the books like dominos. Not only is the PV fun to watch their outfits is too. I especially love the strand of color in their hair, it’s very small but it’s also something new that I haven’t seen H!P done before so I really like the fresh new idea.

The only downside of this single is the cover, especially the Single V color. The cover is a total contrast of the song and I’m actually curious as to how they got the idea for the cover since it doesn’t even match the song. The yellow background and their wet hair seems like they just finished a shower or something and I would’ve chosen a different cover.

I absolutely love everything about this single and regardless of the strange cover this single is rated as a 5.

Takashi Ai – Ai Ai Ai (PB)

Takahashi Ai’s 13th PB and last PB release as a Morning Musume member.

It’s hard to believe that Ai-chan has reached 13 PBs since that is among the highest (or the highest) amount of releases an H!P member has had, and while many might be a bit overwhelmed by the large amount of Ai-chan goods coming out this month I can say for sure that I strongly recommend everyone get a copy of this release since this will most likely be the most treasured by Ai-chan fans (along with her Momusu 47th single edition).

The title is a bit hard to understand at first, but like most releases it has a slight pun since the word Ai can mean Ai-chan, love, or “I”, so basically it can mean many different things such as Love Love Love, I love Ai, among many other combinations, so it’s a fun and appropriate title for her last release.

The cover is among the most simple but impressive I have seen from her since it shows Ai-chan smiling at the camera in front of a white background with her chest up completely bare, and while she is probably wearing a lowcut top (she’s wearing something for sure, sorry to disappoint everyone) it seems like an amazing way of showing off Ai-chan in the purest of ways: a white background almost blending with Ai-chan’s skin with the only colors in the cover being the slightly pale pink lipstick and her brown hair.

It is simply one of the best I have seen and I can’t describe how much I love it since words are not enough, but as the saying says “an image is worth a thousand words” you can check it out for yourself above.

The same saying applies to the previews above since it’s hard to describe how amazing the pictures look: from Ai-chan’s sexy pictures of her in a white sleep outfit and a blue bikini to shots of her posing in a desert like setting and shots of her simply looking at the camera are amazing examples of what the PB will have and what kind of theme it will feature, and while I have only seen about 9 images I can say for sure that this PB will be her best since it shows off her mature side perfectly.

There are a few previews I included in this post, and there are a few more in picboards and other forums, but I strongly encourage everyone to support Ai-chan and get a copy since this is after all her final PB release as a Momusu member (most likely not her final PB release forever), and like I mention many times a few images here and there from various magazines and scans cannot give you the same joy as holding a PB in your hands and flipping each page individually, and I say that from experience since I strongly prefer PBs to scans.

Ai-chan’s last PB release might be one of her best since it shows off a more mature and calm Ai-chan, and while there are only a few previews of the PB for now I am 100% sure that all Ai-chan fans will love this release since the images above do a perfect job of showing us Ai-chan’s beauty.

Hopefully everyone gets their copy of this PB since it is simply a must have.
