S/mileage 9th Single Announced, Titled “Chotto Matte Kudasai!”

It has just been announced that S/mileage will be releasing their 9th single titled Chotto Matte Kudasai! (Wait a minute!) in February.

The single will come in 4 editions: Regular, Limited A, Limited B and Limited C, and the Single V has already been announced to be released a week after the single as usual.

I have to say that I was really surprised to see a new single for S/mileage announced so quickly while their 8th single hasn’t even been released yet with no cover previews or radio rips either, so I was wondering about the reason for this quick announcement (specially that the single won’t be released until February), but this could probably be because of Yuuka’s graduation as in a way to reassure fans that things will keep on going even after she leaves, but this isn’t the first time S/mileage have announced a single before their actual one has been released so it seems to be quite usual from them.

Apart from the sudden announcement, the single’s title is really nice since Chotto Matte Kudasai! is a sort of sentence that Japanese use very often in regular discussions, so seeing it as a song’s title is kind of funny, specially since it’s written in katakana instead of regular hiragana, and even though the title seems to be leaning on to a happy song, I would like to see S/mileage perform a mature and deep song for once, but it seems that we’ll just have to wait and see how this single turns out to be since there is no fear that they will come up with an original concept for this single like they did for all of the previous ones which marked S/mileage’s originality.

Overall, I’m really excited about this single mainly to see how the group will do without Yuuka’s stable vocals, so hopefully more info is out soon so that we can know exactly what kind of song the single will turn out to be, even though it seems that we’ll have to wait quite some time for more details to be released…

The release date is set for 2/1.
