S/mileage – “Chotomate Kudasai!” PV Released

adode13 January 12, 2012 15

The PV for S/mileage’s 9th single titled Chotomate Kudasai! has been released.

From the various clips we saw in the past few weeks the PV seemed to have a dark set with colorful outfits (that looked like Onna to Otoko no Lullaby Game) and a few funny scenes, which is normal for S/mileage since their songs are fun and upbeat. I was very impressed when I saw the PV since it featured many scenes, and while it doesn’t have the usual group shot where they just have fun and sing one by one in the mic it’s a wonderful PV and a must see for any S/mileage fan.

There are quite a few shots in this video, the main dance shot in a dark night set, the close-up shots of each member, the shot of them drawing on a piece of glass, and the shot of them being launched into a window. It seemed like a few shots would have made it even better, but they decided to keep it simple and focus more on the content, and for the most part they did an amazing job.

The dance matches the upbeat sound of the song and it’s fun to see the moves they do, and while I’m not sure if it’s intentional or not it was fun to see Kana have trouble with a few moves (it probably was), since it seemed to go well with the title. The end move reminds me of Momusu’s Renai Revolution 21 since they continue to move in the same position, which is a nice sign that they are aiming for bigger goals.

The shot of them being launched into a window I didn’t really get, but it’s a fun addition since it mixes in the quirky and fun nature of the group.

Apart from that the close-up and the shot of them drawing on the glass aren’t really impressive, but they are nice additions that add to the PV and make it very impressive.

Overall the song is amazing, it fits the personality of the group perfectly and it manages to look a bit more like a Momusu song (compared to Pyoko Pyoko Ultra), and while some of the shots are a bit hard to understand (like the shot of them stuck on a window) it’s a fun PV that really makes the song even more appealing.

I highly recommend everyone take a look at the PV since it’s a fun reminder that the group still has what it takes, even without two of the founding members. Hopefully everyone checks it out and reserves their copy of the single!

The release date is set for 2/1.

So cute! I love this song! All of their singles have been really good since “Koi ni Booing Buu!”
    Yeah, S/mileage! <3

I just love this song and the dance.  Dawa and Kana look adorable.  Well— they ALL do!

    Thanks a lot! :3

I love the song and the pv.  It is so cute and funny! I love to see how the personalities of the new members are developing. :)

I love the adorable Meimi craziness. It’s so her. But other than that (and the cute socks), I don’t really like anything about this song or PV. Yeah, maybe because it feels too Morning Musume-y.

And yes, the Kana-fail is obviously intentional. As Sootie pointed out, they even included a close-up of her during that time, which is director for, “Look at this over here.” But in my opinion, it wasn’t done efficiently. A couple more moves, looking over her shoulder more, maybe a couple more close-ups and it would have seemed more like “a thing they’re doing” and less of “oh, I guess they’re kinda doing this.” Honestly, the fact that fans felt like they HAD to tell each other, “She did that on purpose” means that it wasn’t done successfully.

Kanana’s cute failing parts are definitely on purpuse, right? They are even zooming in on here while she does it :3 She’s so adorable and it’s fun how low her voice is comparing to her cute image…  XD And I really like the song :3

They are on purpose because it also happens when they sing the refrain for the second time ^_^ It’s very cute!

I think they’re finally starting to redeem themselves with this song. I’m highly considering buying this single.

Love the song, but the background looks exactly like the one from
    Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi.

I just love Nakanishi Kana and her fumbling personality. I think they did it on purpose in this video probably because it was so noticeable in the Please Miniskirt Postwoman video that it became a part of her character.

LOL Kanana messed up a LOT XD it was pretty cute :P

I don’t like this single, it’s very strange and horrible!!! I love the last Single, but this is too bad!!!

  • MiracleHappyLove

Is there an alterate link? Germanys youtube doesn’t show any MVs from the official channels.

  • JHasegawa25

That was cute PV. The parts with Kanana are funny and I think they were on purpose. All of them look so cute!! I hope it sells as much ad their previous single.

It’s nice that they could turn a negative into a positive. When people saw the dance practice for please miniskirt postwoman, lots of people complained about how off kanana was, but now that she did it on purpose it’s silly and we can laugh about it ^^
