The cover for BeriKyuu’s joint concert titled Berryz Koubou & C-ute Collaboration Concert Tour 2011 Autumn ~BeriKyuu Island~ has been released.
When I first saw the cover, I was really upset since the first thing that caught my attention was the logo of the tour, the background, and later on the girls, considering that the first thing to catch the eye in a cover should be the artists, and I have to say that I’m not a big fan of how colorful it is since the girl’s outfits combined with the background makes it all look a little cheesy.
Since we didn’t get a lot of preview or coverage from this concert, we didn’t know what to expect as a cover, but it’s no surprise to see that they went for a montage of all of the girls on stage either singing or dancing, but I didn’t expect for them to use those outfits on the cover since there definitely are other ones (like the hostess outfit) that could have looked better.
Apart from that, the girls all look nice if we consider each picture alone, but I think that the combination of the super colorful outfits which have various patterns with the background that is full of shapes and colors make it painful to see, and a simple unified background would have worked just fine. The logo is positioned on the bottom in the middle, and as much as I like it, I think it really takes the attention away from the girls, but it still looks great.
Hopefully BeriKyuu fans will reserve a copy of the DVD as soon as they can since many reports mentioned the concert being really awesome, and even if this is a really bad cover in my opinion, this shouldn’t prevent any fan of purchasing a copy since it’s the content that matters in the end.
The release date is set for 2/29.
