Murakami Sara, who was part of the 10th generation auditions, is now in a new group called Gekidan Her Best.
It’s always fun to see what kind of new groups or artists appear after an audition for a group since there is always a chance that someone who didn’t make it into an H!P group has joined another agency. Many have become popular artists, most notably Kumi Koda, as well as many others like Ayaka Umeda, Yuki Kashiwagi, and Sumire Sato from AKB48 (I’m not sure at all if the names are correct), and a few others have joined smaller agencies, most recently Maeda Irori.
This is why I wasn’t at all surprised to hear that Murakami Sara, who was a fan favorite during most of the auditions due to her unique singing talent, has joined a new group shortly after her appearance on the Momusu 10th gen auditions.
The group is under Sony Music Artist, and while I don’t really recognize the label it seems like a fairly decent place for Sara to shine. We haven’t had a chance to hear any songs from the group, and for the most part we only know of the group through the site and the pictures they have posted, but it seems like a great chance for her to show what she is capable of.
Sara isn’t the only former auditioneer to be part of the group, since Kubota Sayu, from the 9th generation auditions, is also part of the group.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with this group since it seems at first glance to be yet another idol group among the many that have been appearing recently. There are 14 girls in the group so it will be hard to stand out for some members, but it seems like Sara and Kubota have some kind of advantage since there are many who might remember them from the auditions.
Many might be disappointed that Sara might not be in H!P, but it seems like Tsunku had a very specific image of who he thinks is a good idol, and to some extent I agree with him since she didn’t show much progress (during the final performance she looked down a lot and her voice continued to be unchanged during all of the training).
Hopefully we get a chance to listen to the group to find out what kind of sound they have since it might be yet another generic group with no particular hook, but I wish the best of luck to Sara and Kubota and I hope we get to see more of them in the future.
