A short radio preview for Kikkawa Yuu’s 4th single titled Koko Kara Hajimarunda! has been released.
At the announcement of the song, it was mentionned that the producer was a vocaloid expert, so I wasn’t too surprised when I first heard the song since it was to be expected that autotune and electronic noises would be dominant in the song, but I was actually a little surprised about the song’s melody and specially about Kikka’s voice in it since they make it quite different from usual vocaloid-based songs.
The instrumental is pretty much basic since we can’t really define it in an accurate way, and the chorus and verses seemed to be mashed up for me at first, but when I tried to listen to the song while forgetting the autotune and focusing only on Kikka’s voice, I was pleasantly surprised to hear a nice melody starting from when she sings “Koko Kara Hajimarunda!”, and I wished that we could have this same song without the autotune, even though it seems like the highlight of the single which is a somewhat risky attempt from Kikka, taking in consideration that she has proven to be able to sing a lot of different song types such as ballads, upbeat songs and even sad deep ones.
Apart from that, I actually really like the song as a whole since it has a very catchy beat and Kikka makes it a lot more special, and even though I’d really like her to have more songs like Konna Watashi de Yokattara, I can’t deny the fact that the verses of this song specially are really well done and make it stand out in some kind of way, so hopefully her fans will be satisfied by this original new song and purchase a copy to support her!
Hopefully the full preview will be out soon so that we can hear the full-length song and judge basing from that, as well as a preview of the B-side that would complete the single.
The release date is set for July.
