The HQ covers for Berryz Koubou’s next single, cha cha SING has been released.
I was very surprised that the covers were released so soon after the preview of the song was released. Both of them just came so fast I haven’t even had a chance to listen to the preview yet.
Since this single is a cover of a popular song from Thailand in all the covers I can definitely see where the inspiration comes from. It’s very fitting overall and from superheros to this I really like the different themes Berryz Koubou is trying.
Regular
The regular edition features the members floating in the sky while sitting on locust flowers. Buddhism is a major religion in Thailand and just looking at the cover I can just see where all their inspiration came from. Besides their traditional dresses, I like that they incorporated other parts of Thailand’s culture into the cover because it just emphasizes the theme. Overall this is probably my favorite cover because it’s bright, simple and conveys everything about the single.
Limited A

The Limited A features the members in different poses looking off in different directions. This cover is a bit messy for me since everyone is placed too close to each other. In some areas the patterns on their outfits mesh together and some members are slightly rotated so it looks like there are extra arms on the cover.
With that aside though, the sparkles and light rays makes it look like Berryz Koubou just popped out of a magic box. Everyone looks really good on this cover but for me personally Yurina and Chinami look the best because they look so energetic here.
Limited B
The Limited B is very simple and just features the members all looking over their shoulder. The pose they are all doing is different and I like that they’re trying to be unique. The only thing I wish they would’ve done is placed Yurina at the top. I like to keep things that match together and Yurina is sort of out of place because her outfit is a different color from Miyabi, Risako and Momo’s.
Regardless of that everyone looks amazing on the cover and Risako looks very different in her pose. She’s giving off a mature-sexy vibe and she stands out a lot on the cover for me.
Limited C
Limited C is a very standard H!P cover. It just features the members posing as a group with a background that matches the theme. I really like that they toned down the sparkles, in Limited A some of them looked really big and it was a bit distracting. The red and gold/orange curtains makes me think of royalty and that makes Berryz Koubou look like a group of princesses here.
With the preview and HQ covers now released all we need now is the PV and the b-side previews and everything is set for this single. Hopefully everyone can reserve a copy, the release date is set for 7/25.
